At this time, expert guidelines do not make specific recommendations on how to screen someone who is at increased risk of certain diseases based on an elevated PRS. Therefore, while providers may be used to seeing follow-up recommendations listed on a clinical test report, PRS reports will not include such recommendations at this time. Next steps for patients may be determined at the provider’s discretion, incorporating various factors including but not limited to the patient’s PRS result, family history, personal risk factors, etc.
