GWAS are large scale genomic research studies, which are used in polygenic testing to quantify associations between a condition or phenotype of interest (like certain types of cancers or heart disease) and genomic variants (typically called “single-nucleotide polymorphisms” or SNPs) with “common” population prevalence (>1% frequency in a population).
